Source: EU to discuss ban on Russian gold imports on July 18

BRUSSELS, Jul 15 (PRIME) -- The E.U. foreign ministers will discuss a prohibition on imports of Russian gold at a meeting on July 18, a high-ranking E.U. source told reporters on Friday.

"This issue will be discussed, the idea is to present the proposal to the E.U. states. A ban on gold imports is a part of the agenda," the source said.

The ministers will also discuss extending and strengthening the current sanctions against Russia rather than a new package at the meeting, the source also said.
